The Calico Coyote Cloggers are a precision/exhibition/competition team based in Winter Haven, Florida. This group of energetic and talented dancers perform regularly at local craft fairs, bluegrass festivals, fund-raisers, nursing homes and private functions. They have performed at Cypress Gardens, The Magic Kingdom, Disney Village and EPCOT. These dancers represent some of the best cloggers in the state of Florida and have won numerous awards in both team and individual categories. DO YOU LOVE TO PERFORM? | Mission Statement To provide affordable and professional clogging instruction in a healthy environment, which promotes fun, self-esteem, team spirit, good health and assurance that each dancer will reach their full potential, with no restriction on individual exploration of other types of dance to enhance overall ability. |
Classes are instructed by a Florida Clogging Council certified instructor and are offered for beginner, intermediate and advanced dancers. | Clogging is a percussive dance style that somewhat resembles tap dancing or Irish step dancing but with its own unique style. A double tap is used on the toe and heel of the dancer's shoe and emphasis is placed on the downbeat of the music. Originally accompanied by fiddle and bluegrass music, modern precision clogging is done to a wide variety of music including country, pop, hip-hop, rock n' roll, show tunes and the old standby, bluegrass! |
